A HEALTH and wellbeing group is inviting children from the age of five to 15 to take part in a drawing contest during the government-forced lockdown.
Organised by Healthy Abingdon, a charity aiming to encourage local communities and the NHS to work together towards actively improving healthcare, its new campaign 'Get Creating Now' is asking youngsters across the town to create 'imaginative' pictures of activities that residents can engage with.
The main requirement for the illustrations is that they show people taking part in healthy activities such as walking, cycling, running, jumping, weight-lifting or gymnastics.
Participant will also need to include something that relates the image to Abingdon or the Healthy Abingdon charity such as the group's multicoloured logo.
Once the picture is completed, a scan or a photograph of it should be sent as an email attachment to healthyabingdon@aol.com alongside the name, age, post code and contact number of the painter.

There will be two winners in the age categories from five to ten and 11 to 15, who will receive a £15 voucher to spend at the independent bookstore Mostly Books Abingdon that has contributed to the competition.
Organisers requested that children keep the original picture safely in case, after the lockdown, Healthy Abingdon needs to get a high-quality scan of the drawing.
The most imaginative pieces will be used to advertise the Healthy Abingdon charity that was created almost four years ago in 2016 on its website, Facebook page and in other publications.
The deadline for submissions is end of play on Friday, May 8, and winners will be notified by Friday, May 15.
