A FIRE in KFC was behind the closure of Cowley Road earlier today.
An Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said crews were called to reports of a fire in the first floor of the takeaway at 12.13pm.
The blaze was found in a store room.
Two appliances attended from Rewley Road Fire Station, and one from Slade Park Fire Station.
An incident support vehicle was also sent from Eynsham Fire Station.

Crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used high pressure hoses to extinguish the flames and high pressure fans were used to clear the smoke.
The fire was extinguished at 12.57pm.
The spokesperson confirmed there were no reports of injuries and the cause of the fire is 'under investigation'.
Thames Valley Police also attended.
Oxford Bus Company tweeted just after 12.30pm that City 5 services would divert from Barns Road, Church Cowley and Iffley Road due to Cowley Road being blocked by emergency services.
The East Oxford road had reopened by 2.30pm.
