A MAN accused of having more than 100 images depicting child sex abuse has been given a date for his trial.

Bernard Gravett is charged with three counts of making indecent images and one count of possessing extreme pornographic images.

It is alleged that the 63-year-old of Church Lane, Hove, made six indecent images which are in the most severe category - A.

Prosecutors also say that Gravett made a further 25 images in category B and 162 in category C.

He also faces a further count alleging that he had two extreme pornographic images.

All of the offences are claimed to have taken place in Bicester between 2011 and 2017.

Gravett didn't attend his first hearing at Oxford Crown Court which was held yesterday.

His defence barrister said instead that her client 'contested' the matter and so a timetable was scheduled for a forthcoming trial.

Presiding Judge Maria Lamb agreed to adjourn the case and a trial date was set to be held at the same court on December 7 this year.

The case is expected to last between three and four days and Gravett was allowed unconditional bail in the meantime.
