A WOMEN who is back home recovering from the coronavirus has thanked the ‘most amazing’ Oxford University Hospitals staff who cared for her.
Emma-Jayne Rose, from Abingdon, was rushed to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford on Saturday, April 4 after describing her symptoms to the NHS 111 team and being directed to call 999.
She had a high heart rate, low oxygen levels, chest pains, a high temperature as well as trouble breathing.

Having tested positive for the deadly virus, the 38-year-old was cared for in the Intensive Care Unit and given oxygen and antibiotics.
Ms Rose was well enough to be discharged from hospital and return home after four days.
Isolating from her family but in more familiar surroundings, she is feeling ‘more normal’ and now able to go on short walks.
She said: “I don’t think I will even know quite how close things were but on reflection I know that without the staff at the John Radcliffe, it could have been a very different story.
“The dramatic change from feeling ok to being extremely ill was quick and unnerving.”
Ms Rose, who was born at the John Radcliffe, praised the staff and treatment she received.
She said: “The ICU team was the most amazing group of people I have ever met in my life. I was looked after by many nurses and doctors and each and every single one were professional and caring.
“Staff became my family during my stay and that made the whole thing much easier. You knew they were on your team and were doing everything possible to get you better.
“They were busy 24/7 and yet I always felt like I was a priority – they were everything to my recovery.

“The care I received was amazing. I cannot praise the staff highly enough and I clap loud and proud every Thursday for each and every staff member of the NHS.”
As of Wednesday, April 22, a total of 187 Covid-19 patients have been well enough to leave the Trust and return to their homes.
Professor Meghana Pandit, Chief Medical Officer at the Trust, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank all of our teams across the Trust for their continued hard work as we deal with this pandemic.”
