VOLUNTEERS who work for Thames Valley Police have been thanked for providing a decade of service to the force.
Dozens of volunteers joined Chief Constable Sara Thornton, Assistant Chief Constable Nick Gargan and chairman of Thames Valley Police Authority Christine Weston at the Oxford Belfry.
The event celebrated the ten-year anniversary of the Police Volunteers Support Team.
It also gave the 180 attendees a chance to assess how volunteers will support the force in the future.
Chief Constable Sara Thornton said: "Volunteers play an increasingly important role in Thames Valley Police filling numerous different roles and making a real difference.
"The anniversary party was a great opportunity for me to say thank you"
Mrs Weston said: "The event was an opportunity to thank our volunteers for all the work they put in.
"The growth in the number of volunteers over the past ten years is something that makes me very proud and their impact on policing in Thames Valley should not be underestimated.
"From supporting the Force Dog Section to assisting on police station front counters and providing chaplain services, the range of skills and experience is extremely impressive."
