A WARNING has gone out against criminals conning residents out of PINs and credit card details.
Fraudsters purporting to be from the police or a bank are targeting elderly and vulnerable people to try and steal money from their accounts, Thames Valey Police revealed.
This type of scam is known as courier fraud, where criminals call victims pretending to be from the police, their bank or another organisation.

People might be asked for their PIN or to key it into their phone, however, no bank or other legitimate service will ever ask of such details.
The fraudsters then sends a courier or a taxi to pick up the card from the victim's home and sometimes even the driver may not know they are being used as part of the scam.
The police explained that once they have both the card and PIN they can spend the funds.
