Supermarket chain Iceland told NHS workers they must buy anything they touch in store, to stop the spread of coronavirus.
The chain has now apologised after a huge online backlash to the guidance it posted on its website.
The policy appeared on the supermarket's website under a section which details special hours for NHS workers during the coronavirus outbreak.
Hi, this was an error & should not have been posted on our website. We sincerely apologise for the offence this has caused, & have immediately withdrawn this guidance. We're deeply grateful to the NHS & all key workers for everything they're doing to keep the country running.
