A driver has been arrested after a woman pedestrian in Witney was hit by a car and died yesterday.
The incident happened at about 3.55pm on the westbound slip road of the A40 towards High Cogges.
The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was involved in a collision with a black Honda CRV travelling in the direction of Witney from Oxford.
The woman, thought to be in her late fifties or early sixties, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
The slip road was closed at both ends for several hours while an accident investigation was carried out.
