A 'WONDERFUL' care home in West Oxfordshire has been praised by the health watchdog.
Churchfields Care Home in Cassington, has been rated as 'outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in a report published on March 28.
It was the second top score in a month care home owners for Jane and Gerry Roberts, who also received an outstanding rating from the CQC in March for Rosebank Care Home, in Bampton.
The couple took over Churchfields, which provides personal and nursing care, four years ago and have improved upon a 'good' rating in 2017.
The CQC commended Churchfields for having: "Strong and visible person-centred culture, which ensured that staff in all roles were highly motivated and offered care and support that was exceptionally compassionate and kind.”

The report noted in its overall summary that staff often went the‘the extra mile’ to meet people’s needs, with one relative commenting: “I find Churchfields wonderful. It’s just like home from home, warm, welcoming for all residents and their families.”
Mrs Roberts said: “I am absolutely thrilled that our hard working and incredibly dedicated team have gained this recognition. We have a wonderful care team at Churchfields, who share the same vision and philosophy as us. It makes provision of high-quality care everyone’s business."
She added: “When Gerry and I took over this home, we had a vision and we wanted to make it a reality.
"Seeing our residents happy and living life the way they want is fulfilment of that vision."
Inspectors in the CQC also praised staff commenting that 'at all levels' they were 'passionate' about their roles, showing an 'overwhelming commitment' to ensuring people were at the heart of the service. It added one staff member said: “We all challenge each other's practice and ensure people get the best possible care in a dignified manner.”
