A ROBBERY victim has vowed never to walk alone at night along the Oxford street where he was attacked.
The 21-year-old man, who asked not to be named, was confronted by a gang of yobs at SS Mary and John churchyard, in Cowley Road.
They chased him down the road then punched him hard in the face and grabbed his mobile phone, before running off towards the churchyard.
The man said: "I have walked down that road at night on several occasions, but I won't be doing it on my own again. I'm not going to feel safe again unless I'm in a group."
He suffered bruising to his cheek and left eye.
Police have recently been campaigning to install CCTV cameras along Cowley Road to deter street crime.
The robbery happened at about 5am on Sunday near the Co-op store on the junction of Divinity Road.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
PC Alex Gill said: "This was a nasty, unprovoked attack.
"The three men are all black, of average build and height and I would appeal for anyone who may have seen these youths or have any information to contact me."
Contact PC Gill on 08458 505505, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
