Conferences held at Oxford University and its colleges in the last year have netted the city £50m, according to recent research.
The survey, by Business Development Research Consultants, looked at expenditure by conference delegates, organisers, and people accompanying delegates, to work out the average spend per day.
Carl Woodall, chairman of Conference Oxford, said: "People are already aware that money made through events is reinvested back into improving facilities.
"But now we can illustrate just how much value these events have on the city in terms of economic benefit."
