A business leader has welcomed latest official statistics which show the number of people claiming unemployment benefit in Oxfordshire has fallen to its lowest level for almost six years.
In October, 3,417 people in the county claimed benefit - a drop of 278 on September and the lowest figure since December 2001. In the last year the total has fallen by 804.
Barry Wheatley, chairman of the Oxfordshire branch of the Federation of Small Businesses, said the figures were a sign of the success of the Oxfordshire economy.
