The Prime Minister confirmed the reports in a Twitter post this morning and said that he is now self-isolating in Downing Street.
In a video to his followers he said: "I have developed mild symptoms of the coronavirus - a temperature and a persistent caugh, and on the advice of the chief medical officer I have taken a test that has come out positive."
