At least two officers were seen alongside a police van and a car, and at least one forensic officer in a full body suit before 8am.

He said: “When I looked out of my window  this morning, by the two mini roundabouts at the bottom of Newman Road there was a police van and a car with police incident tape all over pavement.

“There are two officers that I can see.

Oxford Mail:

“I just rang Stagecoach and apparently Cowley Road, Littlemore, is closed from Newman Road mini roundabouts, under the bypass all the way to the Catholic church.”

Darren Jones, who took these photos at about 7.30am, said: "I went past there walking the dog this morning.

"I asked the police officer what's going on, and he just sort-of shook his head as if to say 'I don't know'.

"I saw forensics around that car and there were lots of yellow markers all on the road, they must have been there for a while."

Thames Valley Police have been contacted about the incident.
