A DANGEROUS driver who sped into oncoming traffic on Oxford's ring road after a water compressor was stolen has appeared at court.
Andrew Cribbes has already admitted one count of theft, one of dangerous driving and counts of driving without insurance and without a licence.
The 45-year-old of Luther Street, Oxford, appeared via videolink from HMP Bullingdon yesterday (March 24)to be sentenced.
Prosecutors said that the incident took place on March 1 this year.
Officers were responding to a theft of the compressor at Westbury Crescent, Oxford.
Cribbes, driving, was seen at the Heyford Hill Roundabout, before he sped off, driving dangerously, and at one stage through oncoming traffic.
Eventually he crashed into a BMW before running off on foot where he was caught and arrested by police.
Prosecutors asked to adjourn the case before sentencing to assess the injuries of the BMW driver in case fresh charges are brought.
No further charges have been made against Cribbes and the case was adjourned until April 21.
He was remanded in custody in the meantime.
