SEARCHING for a steal? Take a look at the Thames Valley Police eBay site where more than £15,000 of designer gear has been sold this year.
In the past three months hundreds of lots including Mulberry bags and bundles of perfectly wrapped fragrances have been seized from criminals and sold on the auction site by police.
Other listings that have been flogged include a Gucci baseball cap, which retails at £210, and sold to the highest bidder by police for £200.
Thames Valley Police is one of four police force's across the UK using eBay to make money.
The cash made goes into a pot called the Police and Property Act fund which is then divvied out to good causes across the Thames Valley – Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
To get the eBay stock police use unclaimed items and evidence which is often seized from criminals in investigations.
If its good enough to sell then its listed on eBay for 99p, before buyers battle in bids to win.
Usually the items end up at just a fraction off the retail value.
So far this year, in just three months, TVP have made more than £15,000 from their most expensive items sold on the site.
There is one catch for the winning bidders though, they must collect all the goods from the HQ in Milton Keynes.
