Many of us would have been looking forward to an Easter getaway, whether at home or abroad.

Unfortunately, Covid-19 has put paid to those plans.

Some travel operators are allowing customers to postpone their break for up to a year. Others are also offering refunds.

Here are what some of the holiday companies are doing:

Centre Parcs

All its sites are closed – so the company is offering two options

Select new date in the future: Breaks are on sale for arrivals up to December 2021. You can rebook for a new date in the future with no amendment fee and Centre Parcs will also offer you £100 discount from your new break.

Full refund

Hoseasons

Hoseasons doesn’t say its issuing full refunds but will let guests postpone their holiday.

For new and existing bookings with an arrival date on or before 21st May 2020, customers may request a change to the start date of their booking by up to 12 months, subject to availability. Fees will be waived.

Air bnb

The company says: Reservations for stays and Airbnb Experiences made on or before 14 March 2020, with a check-in date up to 14 April 2020, are covered by the policy and may be cancelled before check-in. Guests who cancel will receive a full refund, and hosts can cancel without charge or impact on their Superhost status. Airbnb will refund all service fees for covered cancellations.

The host’s cancellation policy will apply as usual to reservations made after 14 March 2020, and to reservations made on or before 14 March 2020 with check-in dates after 14 April 2020. Cancellations submitted before 14 March 2020 will be handled according to the extenuating circumstances coverage in effect at the time of submission (not the coverage described here).

Villa Plus

Villa Plus will defer your holiday to a later date in the year, change destination or receive a full refund for flight inclusive package holidays.

Tui

Says it will contact holidaymakers directly to discuss their options.
