The number of people claiming unemployment benefit in Oxfordshire has fallen to its lowest level for almost six years, latest official figures have revealed.
In October - 3,417 people in the county claimed benefit - a drop of 278 on September and the lowest figure since December 2001.
In the last year the total has fallen by 804. It is the seventh month in a row that the Oxfordshire figure has dropped.
