Our Oxford Mail Camera Club members have been remaining positive with this week’s theme of ‘luck’.

The lucky pictures range from pots of gold at the end of the rainbow to lucky snaps of wildlife or lucky charms.

Bryan Robertson was in the right place at the right time at Blenheim Palace, when he took a brilliant picture of the Household Cavalry taking their horses for a ride around the park. Paul Woodley also had his camera ready at the right time and sent in a beautiful snapshot of a Bullfinch perched in the trees.

Susan Gibb’s lucky colour is red, and spotting a colourful boat gave her luck when taking her sunny picture at the seaside.

Linda Robertson sent in a picture of her very own lucky pot of gold at the end of the rainbow – namely her pet dog

Mermaids are often used as figureheads on ships to bring good luck on voyage. Ann Faulkner sent in a picture of her granddaughter dressed up as a lucky mermaid by the pool.

Camera Club members also had streaks of luck in capturing great shots of wildlife in Oxfordshire. Rhona Davies has sent in a picture of a peacock showing off its amazingly colourful display of feathers.

Denise Gurden has taken a picture of a little black sheep having fun climbing a tree and Stephen Pimm felt lucky in capturing three roe deer. Heidi Powell’s picture of beautiful spring flowers against a blue sky and Jessica Wraight’s snap of St Ives also show how lucky we are to be surrounded by picturesque sights.

Louise Hook’s little people were busy decorating a lucky clover in preparation for St Patrick’s Day, while Julie Holt sent in a picture of a lucky cat. The Far Eastern-style maneki-neko cat symbolises good luck and money.
