SHOCKING pictures of empty shelves showed the scale of coronavirus panic-buying across Oxfordshire's busiest supermarkets.
Supplies including pasta, eggs, toilet roll and cleaning products were being cleared out today as shoppers stormed major chains after the Prime Minister urged people to avoid public places.
It comes despite pleas from supermarket bosses for shoppers to act rationally.
One customer, Rian Duffy, who visited Tesco Superstore at the Retail Park earlier today shared photos of depleted shelves.
Ms Duffy said: "All my daughter eats is pasta and I cannot find any.
"There is no fresh meat in Sainsbury's either."
More Oxfordshire residents sent pictures of cleared out supermarkets, which included Tesco and Sainsbury's in Didcot.
As of Monday evening, 1,534 people across the UK had tested positive for Covid-19 with 53 dying as a result of the virus.
