Virgin Atlantic plans to cut 75 per cent of services and ask staff to take eight weeks unpaid leave, it has been revealed.
The aviation giant is the latest to reveal difficulties brought about by coronavirus.
It comes after EasyJet said it would make further cuts and Tui suspended a large number of holidays.
Virgin is owned by billionaire Richard Branson, who has come under fire this afternoon with people on social media asking if he should help staff.
Virgin Atlantic have 8,500 employees and Branson has asked them to take 8 weeks unpaid leave.

It would cost £4.2 million to pay all of these employees £500 a week to cover this leave. In total that’s a cost of £34 million for 8 weeks.
Richard Branson is worth £4 billion.
