Coronavirus: will police be allowed to detain the infected?
Will police get new powers to detain the infected?
The Times newspaper is today reporting plans to unveil new policing powers in the fight against coronavirus.
The Times claims police allowed to detain infected. Also that:
- Care standards could be lowered for elderly
- Ministers would be allowed to close ports
- 'Trains, vessels & aircraft' can be halted
- Schools can be directed to close or remain open
