This week is Sport Relief, a charity week aimed to raise money to create a world free from poverty and we asked you to send us your sporty pictures for this week’s Oxford Mail Camera Club competition.

As always, we have received a brilliant range of high-quality pictures and this week there are snaps from all different sports.

From pole vault to skiing and fishing Camera Club have been getting sporty.

Ian Marriott sent in a very impressive picture of the current pole vault world record holder launching himself over the pole in a time lapse.

Charlotte Hickman’s daughter and partner look very proud holding their catch of the day in her picture of the family fishing trip.

Some of our Camera Club members have been enjoying their winter sports. Melanie Burns has sent in a picture of her sister Sarah taking a snowmobile though the snowy landscape of Lapland.

Steve Fisher has sent in a funny picture of his post skiing ice beard as a reminder to dress up warm.

Even Louise Hook’s little people have taken to the slopes snowboarding on their little meringue.

It seems dogs love being sporty, Lottie the dog in Jim Jutton’s picture is holding on tight to its rugby ball and Bella the dog is enjoying the canine sport of flyball in a picture by Ness Ling.

Ann Faulkner sent in an alternative and outdated sport with her picture of Jousting at Blenheim palace.

Another sporty picture on the alternative side was sent in by Anthony Morris. He said: “The only sport taken seriously in Eynsham is the Shirt Race.”

It is not just Lottie the dog loving rugby this week, Kim Benson has sent in an action shot of the Gosford All Blacks at Stratfield Brake. Trish Davies has also sent in a picture of her son’s rugby match.

Shez McKechnie has sent in an arty black and white picture of a pair of boxing gloves hung up and Becky Price has taken a snap of a knockout.

The winner of this week’s Oxford Mail Camera Club will be announced in tomorrow’s paper. Next week is St Patricks day so the theme for next week is ‘luck’, post your lucky shots to the Facebook page.
