WALKERS across Oxfordshire are encouraged to put their best foot forward for those affected by breast cancer.

People taking part will start and finish the annual 20-mile Pink Ribbon Walk in the grounds of Blenheim Palace.

Pink Ribbon Walk manager at charity Breast Cancer Now Rachel Tomas said: "The walk is a firm favourite in our events calendar and this year is no exception.

"The fundraising event lets our walkers embrace the beautiful scenery amongst their friends and families, whilst receiving words of encouragement and smiles from our wonderful volunteers, in a bid to raise money for the charity."

All walkers will write a personal message of love and support on a pink ribbon and add it to the display of ribbons at the end of the walk that is a home to more than 15 years’ worth of tributes.

The funds raised on the event held on May 16 will be used for cancer research and care to those affected by the disease.

Registration for the Pink Ribbon Walk is £20 and people can sign up at www.breastcancernow.org/ribbonwalk
