AN OXFORD family centre backs a national campaign supporting mums’ mental health.
Special red post boxes have been popping up across Oxford as part of a campaign to raise awareness of perinatal mental health ahead of Mother’s Day.
The Maple Tree Children and Family Centre in Wheatley have teamed up with experience gift company Red Letter Days and maternal mental health charity PANDAS to support and empower new mums who might be feeling isolated in the early days of motherhood.

The family centre is encouraging people to write an encouraging and thoughtful message in a Mother’s Day card to an anonymous new mum and post it in one of Red Letter Days’ letter boxes.
Hayley Halye, coordinator at the Maple Tree Centre, said: “We are delighted to be participating in Red Letter Days’ #HeyMum Campaign, as raising awareness of maternal mental health is such an important cause. We recognise that even though new motherhood is usually thought of as a happy time, it can also be incredibly isolating and stressful. We hope that our families can share advice and tips with other new mums around the UK”
One red letter box is located at The Maple Tree Children & Family Centre, Littleworth Road, Wheately.
