PUPILS told Ofsted inspectors that their school is 'incredible' and 'amazing'.

That was some of the feedback from children quoted in a new report for Garsington CE Primary School, near Oxford, following an inspection.

A new report concluded that the school continued to be providing a 'good' standard of education.

Inspectors wrote: "Pupils at this school are happy and safe.

"They enjoy coming to school and describe it as ‘incredible’, ‘happy’ and ‘amazing’."

Ofsted praised pupils for behaving 'very well', adding: "They get on confidently with each other and show respect for adults in school.

"At playtimes, older pupils are responsible, enthusiastic and kind when helping younger pupils."

The school in Garsington teaches about 200 children, and was last rated 'good' in 2017.

Ofsted carried out a short inspection in January and published the feedback on Monday.

Its report added: "Parents and carers are full of praise for this supportive and nurturing school.

"One parent, echoing the views of many, said, ‘The staff are fantastic and go above and beyond for our children.’

"The school’s vision of ‘a vibrant community where everyone can believe and achieve’ underpins all that happens."

This was Garsington's first inspection since it converted into an academy in 2017, meaning it is no longer run by Oxfordshire County Council.

The school in Wheatley Road is now part of the River Learning Trust, which runs about two dozen other schools in Oxfordshire and Swindon, including The Cherwell School and the new Swan School in Oxford.

Headteacher Zara d’Archambaud and her leadership team were described by Ofsted as 'well respected by staff, pupils and parents', while morale among the workforce was said to be 'high'.

There were 206 pupils on roll during the inspection on January 22.
