Oxford Mail Camera Club have been getting their boogie on this week and have sent in their snaps of dance festivals and competitions for this week’s theme of ‘dance’.

From dancing bears to Morris dancers the pictures from this week are colourful and action-packed.

Last weekend we saw the launch of Dancin’ Oxford 2020 and this month there will be dance workshops and shows to get you in the dancing mood.

Ian White sent in a picture from the weekend launch of Dancin’ Oxford of a dance group called Messy Jam performing in the Westgate.

Jo Sainz also sent in a great picture of an Oxfordshire dance group with her picture of her daughter performing on a cruise ship.

Also showing off their moves are Jennifer and Emily at the Rock and Roll national finals in a picture sent in by Allen Dannfald.

Kristina Palm sent in a picture of a little girl who does not need music to enjoy a little dance.

Ann Faulkner sent in a picture of a mum helping her daughter with her dance practice.

Camera Club have also sent in some great action shots from festivals and carnivals in Oxford. Diane Braggs has taken a picture of a group of Morris dancers on May morning in Oxford.

Lesley Murray has sent in his vibrant and glitter filled snap of Cowley Road carnival in the summer.

Pete Silver has taken a picture of a group of traditional Morris dancers mid flow at a performance at the Sidmouth Folk festival.

Sue Reeves also captured a great image of a traditional Irish dancing show.

One creative image sent in by Shez McKenchnie illustrates a shadow dancing in the hay fields at sunset.

Two dancing bears are having a fun boogie at Whipsnade Zoo in a picture sent in by Ian Jones and Linda Robertson sent in a picture of delicate butterflies dancing in the summer sun.

Jim Jutton has sent in a picture from Japan with a snap of an inflatable Anime character at Kyoto station.

It seems John Percival did not get the memo that the theme was ‘dance’ not darts.
