A WOMAN has died after a three-car crash near Witney.
At about 11.25am on Wednesday a white lorry travelling towards Witney on the A415, Standlake Road, crashed with a black BMW and a red Volkswagen Polo travelling in the opposite direction.
The incident happened in Ducklington, near to Cokethorpe School.
The woman, who was in her fifties and driving the Polo died at the scene, while the lorry driver - a man in his fifties - sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
He has been discharged since.
The driver of the BMW, a woman in her thirties, did not need hospital treatment.
Investigating officer sergeant Joe Clamp said: “Firstly, our condolences are with the family and friends of the driver who sadly died at the scene yesterday.
“We would like to talk to anyone who saw this incident or the manner of driving by any of these three vehicles before the collision.
“Officers would also ask anyone in the area at the time with either CCTV or dash-cam footage to check if there is anything significant which could help this investigation.”
South Central Ambulance Service was called to the scene at 11.29am on Wednesday.
Two ambulance crews, a rapid response vehicle, ambulance officer, firefighters and an Thames Valley Police Air ambulance were sent.
