The family of a woman who was killed after running into the path of an oncoming vehicle on the A34 have paid tribute to her.
Bibi Richardson, who died following the accident last week, has been described as a "larger than life character" by her loved ones.
Mrs Richardson, who lived in Fair Close, Bicester, with her husband Lionel, has two daughters, Ann and Kamela and one son, Les.
The 66-year-old died last Tuesday, after running from a car parked next to the A34 into the path of an oncoming vehicle, shorty before 7.15pm.
Mrs Richardson and her husband, 67, who were married for eight years, were both retired.
They were on their way to see friends in Witney at the time of the incident.
Police are investigating why Mrs Richardson left the blue Citroen Xsara she was a passenger in, which was parked in a lay-by on the dual carriageway between South Hinksey and North Hinksey, and ran out into the northbound carriageway, where she was hit by a black Alfa Romeo in the outside lane.
The children, who have lost their mother and Mr Richardson, who has lost his wife, are all deeply saddened by the tragic accident and miss her deeply.
At the weekend the family said they did not want to talk about the circumstances surrounding Mrs Richardson's death.
Instead, they released the following statement: "Bibi Richardson, loving wife of Lionel and devoted mother of Ann, Kamela and Les, was also a loyal member of Bicester Baptist Church, was suddenly lost to us in a tragic accident on November 6, 2007.
"She will be deeply missed by all the family and friends as she was a larger than life character, happy, generous, thoughtful and very active member of the community."
The family did not wish to make any further comments, and are currently sorting out Mrs Richardson's funeral arrangements.
It is thought that she will be buried.
Police are still appealing for witnesses to the accident and can be contacted on 08458 505505.
