EMERGENCY repairs caused by a burst water main led to delays on the A420 this evening.
The road was partially blocked at Carswell, near the golf club entrance, and there were queues tailing back in both directions.

Oxfordshire County Council urged people to avoid the area, warning of 'very long delays'.

The council first tweeted about the problem at 2pm, and the roadworks have been causing delays since then due to two-way temporary traffic lights that are in place.

It is not yet clear if water supply in the area has been affected.
One driver said she saw a trickle of water when she passed this morning, just before the turning to the golf course.
The issue seems to have become more problematic as the day progressed.
