A MAN was dragged away from a busy pub, before being smashed over the head with a flowerpot in a ‘violent' attack.
The 36-year-old man was at The Rowing Machine pub in Windrush Close in Witney on Friday, February 7.
At lunchtime, between 1.30pm and 1.35pm, he was then attacked directly outside the pub by a group of thugs.
They dragged him behind some nearby shops before the main offender smashed a plant pot over his head.
He was left with head and facial injuries and a suspected broken foot – which were treated at Witney Minor Injuries Unit before he was discharged.
At the time two men, a 32-year-old from Witney and a 31-year-old from Middle Barton, were arrested on suspicion of Section 20 grievous bodily harm without intent.
But both of them have now been released on conditional bail until March 13.
