COUNTY council bosses are issuing an information leaflet to Jericho residents about the Walton Street road closure - months after the decision was taken to shut the route on a trial basis.
The road was closed last year for resurfacing and the county council then decided to keep it closed for the time being and is consulting the public on the proposal.

Walton Street has been closed off at the junction with Worcester Street and Beaumont Street since October and could remain shut for up to 18 months.
The issue has proved very divisive, with the Jericho Connections group wanting the road reopened while Don’t Choke Jericho! says keep it shut.

The newsletter has been seen by street fair organiser John Mair.
It says: “Restricting access enables Walton Street to return to a quiet residential street.”
The leaflet, entitled Walton Street Experimental Closure, says a decision on whether to make the closure permanent will be taken before May.
