MOTORISTS travelling into Oxford this morning have been faced with standstill queues.
The A420 leading to Botley Interchange and the Botley Road were both severely congested during rush hour, more so than usual, due to roadworks in the city centre.

One commuter told the Oxford Mail he had been sat near Seacourt for half an hour, as of 8.30am.
Another, travelling in from North Oxford at 10.15am, said there were also standstill queues on St Giles and Beaumont Street.
Oxford Bus Company said some of its services are running with 45-minute delays.
Our services are continuing to suffer severe delays of up to 45 minutes at present. We are working hard to regulate services as best we can.

Traffic shown on Google Maps at 8.30am
Oxfordshire County Council said delays were 'very long' due to the roadworks at George Street and Worcester Street, which were due to start yesterday.
Very long delays on the #A420 from #Cumnor and continuous along the #BotleyRoad due to works to re-model the #GeorgeStreet / #WorcesterStreet junction in #Oxford city centre. Find an alternative route if at all possible. #OxonTravel pic.twitter.com/VnrBgJWYDg
