Residents can be nominated for a wide range of reasons, including outstanding achievement in their field such as sports or culture; contribution to commercial life; improving the environment of Bicester; going that extra mile; improving other people’s lives; gained national or international recognition for Bicester; or an act of bravery.

Winners will be presented with a Good Citizen badge and certificate by the Mayor at the annual mayor making ceremony on May 11.

Richard Mould, Town Council leader, said: “As a councillor reading the nominations and helping to choose winners is one of the best jobs. Not only do you learn about the amazing residents who live here, but you get a real sense of what a great community Bicester is.

“This award is a really special way to acknowledge those wonderful people and give them some well-deserved recognition. If you know someone who deserves this award please nominate them now.”

The awards were launched in 2001 as a way of recognising people who had made a positive impact on their community.

The closing date for nominations is Friday, March 6.
