A MAN was hit in the side of a head by yobs during a 'frightening' robbery in Waitrose car park.
The 25-year-old man was walking through the Abingdon store's car park in Abbey Close on Saturday when a group of youths aged 17 to 19 approached him at around 12.20am.
One of the teenagers then grabbed hold of his coat asking him for money.
The same teenager, who is described as around 6ft tall and white, then took his wallet which had cash inside.
A second yob then punched him in the side of the head, before the group made a dash for freedom out of the car park.
The robber, who was wearing a dark jacket with the hood up, has dark hair with a fringe which is swept over his forehead - he also has bright blue eyes and no facial hair.
The second teenager is described as around 6ft with dark patchy stubble and dark eyes, with either a mole or piercing above his lip.
At the time he was wearing a white hooded top with blue paneling and his hood and shoulders were blue.
The victim had injuries to his head but did not need to go to the hospital.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Jamie Lawes based at Abingdon police station said: “I am appealing for witnesses to this incident, which was a frightening experience for the victim.
“If anyone was in the area who saw something, or believes they have any information, please come forward."
