MESSAGES of fury poured on social media after a donation box was stolen over the weekend.
Taken from St Kenelm's Church, Minster Lovell, in Witney, the collection box is worth more than £500.
A spokesperson from the church said: "We are assuming someone has taken the box and dumped it somewhere.
"We would really like the like the box back if people could please keep an eye out for it."
Residents took to social media to express their outrage about the theft.
Facebook user Ann Bradley wrote: "How awful. Hope you find it."
Another resident Kelly Soper commented under: "Sorry to hear this, some vile people out there."
One user, Nickie Rogan, said: "The sad thing is, had it been genuine need the church would’ve helped them."
