The new Ford Mondeo has won a five-star rating for adult occupant protection in the latest round of Euro NCAP safety testing.
The test result for Mondeo was one of the top ten ever recorded in the respected independent crash testing evaluations.
Mondeo joins three other Ford models - Focus, Galaxy and S-MAX - on the Euro NCAP top ten list, reinforcing Ford of Europe's position as the manufacturer with the highest number of vehicles in the top ten for adult occupant protection. The Mondeo scored 35 points for adult occupant protection to win its five-star rating, the maximum rating awarded by Euro NCAP.
The Mondeo also achieved a four-star rating for child occupant protection, and two-star for pedestrian protection.
Gisbert Gaeb, manager for vehicle safety at Ford of Europe, said: "It demonstrates emphatically that the work we devote to optimising the safety of vehicles really pays off where it counts.
