A man charged with causing the death of a motorcyclist by dangerous driving had his case moved to Bristol Crown Court.
Malcolm Tierney, 50, of Earley Road, Witney, is accused of causing the death of Andrew Wilcoxon, 40, of Hucclecote, Gloucester on May 23 on the A40 at Northleach, near Cheltenham.
It is alleged Tierney was the driver of a Ford Focus which collided with Mr Wilcoxon's blue Suzuki motorbike Mr Wilcoxon was declared dead at the scene after the collision. A post-mortem found he died from multiple injuries.
Tierney was appearing at Gloucester Crown Court for a timetable to be fixed for his case. He spoke only to confirm his identity and entered no plea to the charge.
Judge Jamie Tabor QC said: "This is a very, very sad case. It needs a line drawn under it for everyone's sake."
Judge Tabor moved the case to Bristol Crown Court, so that it will come to trial quicker than if it stayed at Gloucester due to schedules. Tierney was granted unconditional bail and ordered to appear at Bristol on January 18 next year to enter his plea.
A trial date will be fixed then.
