A MAN stabbed to death in Didcot yesterday has been described as a 'great dad' and 'lovely bloke'.
The victim of a brawl in Mendip Heights, after which police launched a murder investigation, has been named locally as Darren Maccormick.

People have flooded social media with tributes to the father, who was affectionately known to his friends as Dizzy.

Police have not yet formally identified the man who died, but said he was aged in his 40s.
Two other men were seriously injured during the 'altercation' involving a group of men, which happened at about 3.45am in the residential estate.
They have since been released from hospital.
Mr Maccormick's Facebook profile states that he was a former pupil of St Birinus School in Didcot, who lived in the town.

Emma Jarvis said: “Darren was such a kind, funny, outgoing man, who lived for his children.
“He will be missed dearly – he had a big heart and had time for everyone, he helped me through some bad times.
"I hope whoever did this is caught and is severely punished.”
A friend posted on Facebook: "One of the most real guys you would ever meet. Raving with the angels now, gone but not forgotten."

Another said: "Today I lost a proper friend in Darren Maccormick, he was stabbed to death for god knows what reason, I shed a tear for you today.
"Absolutely can't believe your gone my friend, I'll never forget your toothless grin, your ability to make everyone smile."
One man wrote: "Great friend, great guy, great dad.
"God bless you Dizzy, you never deserved this!
"Will miss you at work and in my world. Love you brother!"

Another said: "Shocked, he was such a lovely lovely bloke."
He was described as having a ‘heart of gold’.
A man who commented on an Oxford Mail Facebook post said: "His two children are brother and sister to my children so it’s very close to home.
"No one deserves to be taken that way whatever the circumstances."

One friend posted on Facebook: "So many memories with you. We will never forget you buddy."
Another commented: "He was like a big brother to me. Always looking out for me. Will never forget him."
Police have urged anyone with information about the attack to call 101 quoting reference number 107 (9/1).
