Homeless people in Oxford are set to benefit from a scheme aimed at getting people back into the workplace.
The Porch Steppin' Stone Centre, in St Mary's Road, Oxford, has received a £16,884 grant from Barclays' Banking on a Brighter Future scheme.
The money will be spent on helping homeless people in Oxfordshire get into full or part-time employment.
The scheme will provide training, such as job skills, interviews techniques and CV writing.
The Porch Steppin' Stone Centre encourages members to tackle issues such as apathy, addiction and unemployment and provides healthy, good, practical help, companionship, learning skills and opportunities for development. Barclays employees will help out with the new scheme, which will be launched on Friday.
They will be volunteering and sharing their experiences.
Ian Callaghan, Steppin' Stone centre director, said: "Barclays' money will enable the Porch charity and the Steppin' Stone Centre to benefit more than 30 homeless and vulnerable people. We are aiming to continue to make a difference to people's lives in a positive way through Barclays support.
He added: "We are delighted to be working together with Barclays to proactively remove some of the barriers homeless and vulnerable people face when trying to enter employment."
