A WOOD Farm chip shop hailed as the ‘best in Oxford’ has proved it has equally high hygiene standards in the kitchen.
Alice's Fish and Chips was judged to be excellent across the board when inspectors from Oxford City Council's health team visited in November.

Owner Engin Onber said he and his staff 'worked hard' to keep the five-star rating, which it was first awarded in October 2017, shortly after opening.
He said: "It is of course very important to have the five stars because it means customers see we keep things clean and standards are high with all right training being done by staff."
Mr Onber, who lives in Cowley, opened the takeaway two and a half years ago when the Atkyns Road shop came up for sale.
He said: "I've always been interested in fast food and used to have a kebab van in Summertown so this made sense."
The unit has been the location of a number of fish and chip shops, for a brief period in 2016 it was home to the Happy Bite and before that for several years was known as The Happy Cod.

Mr Onber said: "We are very popular and a lot of customers are regulars. It is a bit like a family.
"People know if somewhere is good or if it isn't so we get a lot of people coming due to recommendations which is always very nice to hear."
He added that despite it being a fish and chip shop customers were most likely to list the fried chicken as their favourite.
He said: "People say our hot wings are better than KFC."
The chip shop has a rating of 4.3 out of five stars on Google reviews with more than a hundred people taking the time to share their opinion of the business.
Dennis Carter in a recent review, wrote: “Best cod and chips I have had for a very long time.

Several reviewers said the chip shop was so popular there would often by a queue out the door on a Friday night, with one customer writing: "It took a while, finally... we have the BEST Chippy in Oxford!"
