A HEADTEACHER has thanked parents for donating money to help pay for 'little extras'.
Families at Faringdon Junior School have been thanked by head Sharon Farrell, in an end-of-term newsletter.
As schools try to make their funding stretch, many have been grateful for donations from parents and members of their community.
The newsletter said: "Over the last couple of years, parents have generously donated money during school events and fundraising in the community events, to help to pay for the little extras that the school budget cannot stretch to.
"I send our heartfelt thanks to everyone and to let you know where the money has been spent so far."

She said £800 has been put towards new playground equipment for children to use at break and lunch times.
Donations also helped to pay £1,200 for school diaries for each child.
The letter added: "We would not be able to offer [these] without the fundraising monies."
New iPads were purchased thanks to £1,000 awarded by the Rotary Club, and the school is now saving for new stage lighting and curtains to enhance performances.
It will also be running an art project thanks to a Tesco grant.
