AS MOTORISTS face a third crash in two days on the A420 this evening one bus driver got into trouble trying to avoid the road closure.
Sharing a snap of a stranded Stagecoach double decker in Gainfield, near Faringdon, on social media at 5.30pm, Neill Lawson-Smith said the bus got stuck in mud trying to do a turn in a driveway.

Posting on Facebook he wrote: "As fallout of the diversions take grip, the S6 enroute via Gainfield got disoriented and tried to do a three point turn in the driveway of a modest house in Gainfield and is now stuck axel deep in mud.
"What was the driver thinking???"
In a tweet just before 4pm today Stagecoach West said to 'expect severe delays' to S6 buses and the company was 'currently working on a diversion'.
#Swindon We have now been advised by the police that the A420 is closed between Southmoor and Buckland. We are currently working on a diversion, however we now expect severe delays to buses on service S6. It may not be possible to serve all stops. Please check back for updates
