Hundreds of homes in Bicester are set to get advice on stopping burglars.
Police, Community Support Officers and crime prevention advisers are going door-to-door around the town, warning residents not to leave windows or doors insecure.
Last year break-ins increased in November as opportunist burglars took advantage of the dark evenings. Burglaries in the town have fallen by 16 per cent this year.
