A PUB that mysteriously closed without any warning has reopened nearly seven months later.
The Black Boy in Headington, which closed its doors suddenly for the last time in June, sits on the edge of Old Street at the junction with Barton Lane.
The pub was popular with locals before it shut when the managers revealed on Facebook that they were leaving after decades of service.
However the pub's owner – Leicestershire brewery Everards – was keen to get it open again and listed the inn on its website for letting in July.
They told the Oxford Mail that it was 'racking up a lot of interest' and had been a hit with potential buyers.
TIMELINE:
- Pub mysteriously closes
- The Black Boy goes on the market
- The Black Boy will reopen soon, owners say
- Will it be unrecognisable when it opens?
In October the owner made a planning application to Oxford City Council asking to put up four new signs on the wall outside, some bearing a new logo.
Now, months later, the pub's new managers have taken to Twitter to announce its reopening after an 'extensive refurbishment'.
