PROPOSALS for more disabled parking have been put forward for central Oxford.
Oxfordshire County Council is consulting on plans to create bays to meet 'increased local demand', but to remove restrictions in bays that are not currently being well-used.
It wants to create bays in Observatory Street, Godstow Road, Alma Place, Charles Street, Church Way, Moorbank, Priory Road, Wytham Street, Bracegirdle Road and Valencia Road.
It wants to remove bays in Cricket Road, Kingston Road, East Street, Bath Street, Hurst Street, Rose Hill and Stainfield Road.

The plan also suggests moving the position of a bay in Oakthorpe Road, to the other side of the road.
Consultation papers state: "The council continues to consider the provision of suitable and adequate parking for residents and visitors and those with special needs.
"The proposals are made to amend the traffic order to add and remove disabled persons parking places as detailed.
"New applications are being considered, and existing places removed through users being deceased, no longer requiring a place, or through relocation associated with adjacent building development."
