DRIVERS have been advised to avoid 'heavy congestion' in Oxford city centre and use park and ride services instead.
Oxfordshire County Council has warned motorists of major disruption this afternoon, including on Botley Road.

Westgate Centre Car Park was full as of 1.30pm, and the council said the journey time between West Way in Botley and Thames Street in the city centre was 43 minutes at that point.

Despite the council directing people to the park and ride, Oxford Bus Company reported 'major delays' to two of its park and ride services.

Abingdon Road and Oxpens were also showing up as being badly congested this afternoon.
