ROADWORKS will close a stretch of the A34 southbound in Oxford tonight.
Oxfordshire County Council has warned that the carriageway will be completely shut between the Peartree Interchange and Hinksey Hill Interchange, for Highways England works.
The road will be closed from 9pm tonight until 6am tomorrow, and closures will resume overnight tomorrow and on Wednesday at the same times.
A signed diversion will be in place via the A44, A40, A4142 and A423.
Earlier this month, and last month, road closures were in place on the northbound A34 due to Highways England works.

A leaflet sent out to parish councils from Highways England said this was due to 'essential repairs to the bridge' over Botley Road.
Tonight's closure does not appear to be mapped on the Traffic England map, which gives details about Highways England roadworks and the reasons for closure.
The only future work on the A34 in Oxford currently mapped is at the southbound entry slip from the A420, at the Botley Interchange, for which roadside drain works are expected to cause lane closures.
According to the map, one lane will be closed for those works on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, between 9pm and 6am, and again at the same times on November 25-30.
