A COMPANY that produces equipment for swimming pools, spas and saunas will be moving to a new headquarters in Witney.

The ten year lease at Downs Road is expected to cost upwards of £8m.

Certikin International is the country’s largest swimming pool and wet leisure equipment manufacturer and has agreed a ten year lease for its new HQ.

The company produce a range of products including lights, filters, and heating and ventilation systems for pools.

Certikin's new headquarters will be a massive 125,000 sq. ft base.

That equates to over two football pitches.

The development is part of the 24-acre site currently being built by Tungsten Properties at Downs Road, 500m from a new junction of the A40.

Since 1990, Certikin’s headquarters and main distribution hub has been based in Witney.

There are currently 130 people employed by Certikin in the town.

The company's current base on the Station Lane Industrial Estate stores over 8,000 product lines for both domestic and commercial pools and spas.

In addition to the existing site in Witney, the company has a state-of-the-art computer-controlled swimming pool liner and cover manufacturing plant in Leeds.

However, it is in Witney where the majority of the stock and workforce is based.

Certikin therefore considered it crucial that their brand new headquarters remained in the market town.

Neil Murray, managing director for Certikin, said: “Having outgrown our existing premises, we knew we needed to move to a bigger, better site.

“We were determined to stay in Witney to cause the least possible disruption to our highly valued and experienced employees.

“The move should improve our operational efficiency and secure Certikin’s future as well as that of our 130-strong workforce.”

Mr Murray hopes that by keeping the company's headquarters in Witney, this will lead to improved service levels for customers as almost all of their products will now be under one roof.

Mr Murray added: “Tungsten Park offers us the space and enhanced facilities that we need to suit all the complex needs of our growing business.”

Certikin aim to move into the new building by the end of 2020.
