POLICE this afternoon appealed for witnesses after a fire at Challow and Childrey Cricket Club.
Two outbuildings at the club were set on fire and police are treating the cause of the fire, which broke out in Vicarage Road, Wantage, at about 7.40pm on Tuesday as suspicious.
PC Richard Josey, based at Abingdon police station, said: "We were alerted by the fire service to the incident. This fire could have been a lot worse causing greater damage to property and a serious risk to life.
"I would like to make a direct appeal to anyone who may have any information about this arson to contact me."
